folkleur

On January 2, 2026, in Sierre (Canton Valais), the association “FolkLeur – mémoires en résonance” was officially founded.

Its statutory purpose is to promote the knowledge and appreciation of local history, culture, and folklore through an innovative approach based on immersive historical role-play and other playful and cultural methods that encourage experiential learning over purely theoretical knowledge, fostering participatory storytelling and lived cultural exploration.

folkleur is a community-based cultural association located in Sierre, Canton of Valais, Switzerland.

Its name combines “folk” (people, traditions) with the French word “leur” (them), symbolizing the collective memories and stories of a community.

Our mission is to bring local history, culture, and folklore to life through immersive experiences, role-playing games, and creative workshops. Participants don’t just learn—they step into the stories themselves, becoming active storytellers while sharing their own experiences.

By joining Folkleur, you connect with a unique cultural ecosystem—local libraries, cultural centers, artists, and storytellers—while contributing to tangible creations: collaborative storybooks, narrative game modules, and interactive cultural trails.

Step into a space where history resonates, stories come alive, and communities connect across generations and cultures.

FolkLeur is proudly supported by the T3-Method The Team Tale, which provides its methodology free of charge and collaborates in the organization of immersive historical role-playing sessions.

This partnership enhances the educational and cultural impact of our activities, ensuring that participants benefit from both innovative experiential tools and meaningful engagement with the local heritage of Valais, Switzerland...and beyond.
